Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists at Polinsky Medical Rehabilitation Center improve patients’
abilities to perform everyday tasks, such as bathing, cooking, dressing, checkbook
management and home safety.
Our highly trained occupational therapists’ services
include:
- Activities of daily living and recommendations on adaptive equipment
- Neuromuscular evaluation for strengthening as well as for splinting affected areas
and for lymphedema (swelling) management
- Home assessments to evaluate safety and
provide recommendations for kitchen, bathrooms and other rooms
- Working with patients
with Multiple Sclerosis or Parkinson’s Disease
- Driver’s potential assessments
- Vision therapy, including help with low vision or compensatory strategies for
limited fields of vision
- Hand, arm and shoulder rehabilitation including use of
Saeboflex, Hand Mentor and Bioness
- Dementia evaluations and caregiver education
- Evaluations for wheelchairs, seating and other adaptive equipment
