Dizziness & Balance Program (Vestibular Rehabilitation)
If you are experiencing dizziness, vertigo, loss of balance or impaired vision and
hearing, SMDC's Dizziness and Balance Program at Polinsky Medical Rehabilitation Center can help.
Through an individualized program set up for you, our therapists will use exercises,
techniques, training and other tests to help you, such as:
- repositioning treatment
- gaze stabilization
- posture control
- repeated movement
to decrease motion sensitivity
- an eye-tracking test to look for vestibular disease
- use of video goggles with infrared cameras to record eye position and movement
- use of physical assistance or assistive devices
These exercises will help:
- Decrease symptoms of vertigo or dizziness
- Improve
balance
- Improve stability while walking
- Increase your endurance
- Improve blurriness
of vision
- Improve your ability to function at home
