VitalStim therapy
If you have trouble swallowing, VitalStim therapy may help treat your condition,
known as dysphagia.
This specialized form of neuromuscular electrical stimulation
re-educates muscles used in swallowing. VitalStim is the only device and therapy
method approved for use by the Food and Drug Administration.
The treatment is non-invasive.
An electrical current sent via electrodes attached to the neck stimulates the muscles
responsible for swallowing. Many patients see dramatic improvements after a few
treatments.
