Interactive metronome therapy
Interactive metronome therapy combines a traditional musical metronome with the
power of a computer to precisely measure and improve a child’s timing, focus, concentration
and coordination. That helps with brain development and learning. It also helps
develop motor praxis (planning how to move), which is fundamental to self-care and
other activities such as playing, reading and writing.
Using headphones, along with hand and foot sensors, the therapy method precisely
measures how closely a child responds to computer-generated musical beats.
The one-hour
interactive sessions with a specially trained occupational therapist last 15 weeks.
