Sensory Integration Praxis Tests
The Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT) is made up of 17 subtests that evaluate
several aspects of praxis from a sensory integration frame of reference. The three-hour
test, designed for children ages 4-8, provides specific treatment diagnosis for
treatment planning. It is best used on children with mild to moderate learning delays
or motor delays.
Sensory Integration/Sensory Processing helps your child connect to his or her world.
It’s the neurological process that organizes sensations from the body and environment
and then allows you to use your body within that environment. In our therapy sessions,
we guide your child in meaningful play designed to enhance his ability to solve
problems, initiate movement, figure out the sequence of an activity, and enjoy new
movement. We focus on sensations such as touch, light and deep pressure, vestibular
input, movement based on position of the head and proprioception (the ability to
move within your environment).
Our goal is to help your child reach functional goals that you’ve identified such
as dressing, eating, playing, reading and writing.
