Sensory Processing
Your child may want to ride a bike, climb on playground equipment or draw with crayons.
At Polinsky Medical Rehabilitation Center, we can evaluate your child to determine
what functional delays may be preventing him or her from joining these common childhood
activities.
Sensory processing/sensory integration helps your child connect to his or her world.
It’s the neurological process that organizes sensations from the body and environment
and then allows you to use your body within that environment.
Our therapy revolves around a core principle: Work is child’s play. Much of our
therapy takes place in our Sensory Integration room, where your child can climb,
crawl, touch and swing.
We challenge our patients just enough, engaging your child in activities that may
have been too difficult. This allows development of new skills and meets therapy
goals without fear or anxiety.
Among our specialties that incorporate sensory processing/integration are
Sensory Integration Praxis Test,
Interactive Metronome
Therapy and
Therapeutic Listening.
