Patients at Polinsky Medical Rehabilitation Center practice for real life in our facility, whether it’s cooking a meal, making your bed or balancing your checkbook.

We want to make sure you can use those skills at home. It’s our goal for patients and families to achieve as much independence as possible.

For example,

• We ensure you have the right fit in your wheelchair or with other medical equipment.
• We may be able to help you secure a personal care assistant
• We may be able to help get adaptive equipment installed in your home, such as an accessibility ramp or shower bars.
• We may be able to link you to an education, job training or a job coach
